Multi-Show Rental Proves More Savings and Versatility Over Purchase of Same Design

I have working numbers for you to review.  There are a few areas that I have not firmed up, but this is a good ballpark to determine if this design is the direction you want to take.  FYI, this design package is right in-line with the industry averages with the exception of flooring.

I’ve broken this down over 3 years based on industry averages for purchase v. rent and given you my professional opinion.  If this is confusing, and you know me so it might … please give Moose Exhibits a call.

 

Rental:

 2016:

Information on 2017 rental of the same display graphics and hardware for you to make an informed decision.  Please keep in mind that rentals do not incur charges for storage, repair, maintenance, reconfiguration and eventual disposal.  The EDPA estimated figure for this over the life of the display is 37% of the purchase price.

Service, I&D etc 2017/2018  $16,800 per year

In a nutshell, a 2 year turnkey rental based on the above will run $83,100.  A purchase for the same (2) shows will have an out-of-pocket cost of $85,650 plus electronics, storage, refurbishment, maintenance and repair. ( Estimated at $18,148)

The big question here in my opinion is year 3… will the design be “tired” and ready for a change.  You can expect to replace the flooring etc….

If year (3) of the rental, for the sake of this e-mail, will again be $36,700,  then year (3) options looks like this:

Rental:  $36,700

Purchase: 

On-sites:                                              $16,800

EDPA costs of ownership:            $18,000

Total                                                      $34,800

Difference own v. rent 3 years   $1,900 (plus cost of TV’s, so it’s a wash)

Here is the my $0.02.  The cost of own v. rent is nearly identical, and the variables are branding and services anyway, the 3 year rental option gives you the flexibility to have constantly upgraded booth properties, and the ability to reconfigure annually based on show-floor location, always keeping your display having a Fresh New Look.

Finally, look at the out-of-pocket.  Over 3 years the rental is more consistent whereas the purchase has a higher up-from investment.
